The State Board of Education met on Thursday, March 31 to discuss a range of issues, from the annual budget for the Area Education Agencies to practitionr and administrator preparation programs to a report on joint enrollment at Iowa’s community colleges.
The meeting was also attended by several special guests, including Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds who discuss top education priorities with the Board. In addition, the 2010 National Teacher of the Year – Iowa’s very own, Sarah Brown Wessling – and the 2011 Iowa Teacher of the Year, Molly Boyle, both made presentations to the Board on their experience in those roles.
